Today, a student who has been familiar with the English language and who has been studying this language over the years is still not able to talk about his personal background or personal interests by putting two words together, which is a result of the traditional education system in Turkey. It is such that, even those English speakers who complete their education in a foreign language-medium college do not know words which resemble/represent the parts of life in Turkey such as “Üsküdar İskelesi”, “Babaili Yokuşu”, cob and prayer beads. Similarly, via the traditional method, a student who is trying to learn English, rather than learning Faculty of Bussiness Administration, School administration, graduation diploma, tuition fees, government office etc, they learn about the giraffes, pigs or Big Ben Clock Tower which they have never seen in their lives before. For example, through their elementary education among the words over 2000 which are required to be taught in the classes the students are supposed to be taking at least 2 hours a week, it is very often possible to encounter the words which are not directly related to their lives but the words very directly related to their lives such as Republic of Turkey, moon and the star (symbols of the Turkish Flag), Ottoman Empire, Islam. Consequently, meeting a foreign person, Turkish speaker of English finds it very challenging to talk about the topics related to himself/herself. It is a debatable topic whether this lacking in foreign language education for ages is one of the reasons why Turkey cannot introduce herself to other countries.



Above all, we think that to prevent the students' alliniation, which is on increase, we think that we can only solve this problem of foreign language education by using the equipments which are present at the Institution of Turkish Education. Aside from the American and the English equipments, despite all those years they spend in Turkey, it is very natural of these experts not knowing the needs of Turkish learners compared to Turkish teachers of English. Because they cannot understand their life and understanding styles, because of the students' different cultural backgrounds, that the use of these educational equipments be useful by basing it on the Turkish learners' life styles is going to be hard to succeed.

This is a VERY challenging article to translate first of all. The structure used in the text is very complicated, which the Turkish language allows one. However, the translation of it into English is very hard since English does not have such complex sentence structures. Speaking of which, there are also many long sentences which has to be shortened while translating them into English, otherwise the entire meaning could have been lost. To talk about the form of the language used in the text, since it requires higher vocabulary level, it is written in a formal way, which makes it a very academic text. It also would be better for a person who knows the field to translate this text since it requires some terminology knowledge. Another point to make is that since there are national notions in the text, the translator may have to brackets to define a term such as "Ay-Yıldız". In short, a person who is confident in these two languages in terms of structure, academic knowledge in the field, and language use, can be given this text to translate.
